New Release of OMDEC’s SMS (Spares Management Software) Version 1.4

Dealing with spare parts both cost effectively, and also from a reliability standpoint is a must. SMS helps companies balance inventory costs - and also assure that when a failure occurs, they are well prepared to respond in the expected timeframe.

SMS focuses on high cost, slow moving critical spares with which companies always have difficulty in forecasting the required quantities.  Two very clear results emerge from the case studies to date - substantial cost savings from overstocking, and increased reliability from understocking

This fifth release of SMS (v1.4) now includes “Cost Calculations” when dealing with non repairable spares, plus the choice to select between emergency replacement and downtime option without spares. In addition the interface for entering basic data has been improved.

SMS Value

  • Cost savings on critical spare parts
  • Confidence that critical parts will be available when needed
