Our company is getting involved with PAS55 and PDAs for data collection. Should we get those projects over with before embarking on LRCM?

PAS55 is a compendium of everything that is known about asset management over the past century. I am not able to study and speak with credibility on this new fad right now. LRCM embodies the principles of continuous process improvement probably better than anything in PAS55.

LRCM does not conflict with remote data collection, PDAs, Real Time, etc. etc. All that data has to end up in a database. Without LRCM that's where it will stay (and rot). With LRCM that data will transform into a valuable resource for quick continuous, verifiable, improvement of maintenance process effectiveness.
