He has been appointed an Honorary Visiting Professor there for a period of 3 years!
As part of that position he will be giving an open presentation on Tuesday, November 27.
The seminar is open to the members of the Centre for the Maintenance and Industrial support (C-MIS) of Lulea University, besides University participants and Omdec's contacts. There is no charge to the member organizations for this seminar.

Andrew K.S. Jardine, Ph.D., C.Eng., M.I.Mech.E., M.I.E.E., P.Eng. is Professor and Principal Investigator at the Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) Laboratory at the University of Toronto where the EXAKT software for CBM optimization and the SMS software for the optimization for emergency spares have been developed and he is a very valuable part of Omdec.
Prof. Jardine is the author of the economic life software AGE/CON and PERDEC and of the OREST software used for optimizing component preventive replacement decisions and forecasting demand for spare parts. As well as producing software, Dr. Jardine is a prolific researcher and proselytizer of advances in maintenance decision making and his views are regularly advocated through industrial consultation, published papers, and professional seminars and conferences.
Professor Jardine wrote the book, “Maintenance, Replacement and Reliability”, firstpublished in 1973 and now in its 6th printing. He is the co-editor with J.D. Campbell of the 2001 published book Maintenance Excellence: Optimizing Equipment Life Cycle Decisions.
His new book “Maintenance, Replacement & Reliability: Theory and Applications”, coauthoredwith Dr. A.H.C. Tsang, was published by CRC Press, 2006.
Professor Jardine was the 1993 Eminent Speaker to the Maintenance Engineering Society of Australia and in 1998 was the first recipient of the Sergio Guy Memorial Award from the Plant Engineering and Maintenance Association of Canada in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Maintenance profession. He is listed in Who’s Who in Canada.
