ABBU - OMDEC Training Program Summaries
This
is a half-day Executive Overview designed as an introduction to the principles,
strategies and techniques of upgrading Maintenance Effectiveness, and the key
role that Executives should play. The
gap between Executives’ understanding of maintenance issues and priorities, and
Maintenance’s understanding of Executives’ requirements has never been
wider. This program seeks to close that
gap and and show how to directly impact on the ROI using examples drawn from
many years of experience. Attendees
will gain a solid understanding of how to better direct the Maintenance
function in its achievement of corporate goals.
This is an intensive
five day practical training program designed to give Maintenance and Operations
Managers, Supervisors and Senior Practitioners an overview of the most important
techniques that are being used by the leading maintenance departments. With a heavy workshop and discussion group
focus, topics will include Best Practice Tools In Maintenance,
Maintenance Strategy And Performance Improvement, Computerized Maintenance
Management Systems (CMMS) And Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Reliability
Centered Maintenance (RCM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Expert Systems
and Managing Change.
3. Maintenance
Best Practices
Much attention has been devoted in the literature to best practices in
Maintenance. This two day course for Maintenance and
Operations Managers, Supervisors and Senior Practitioners looks at how these
best practices are defined, why they in practice will vary with the
location, whether companies should be
pursuing them, and if so, what value they can expect to derive from them. From the many best practices available, the
attendees will learn a simple but effective way of prioritising the most
relevant ones for their company and how they can be implemented.
CMMSs
and EAMs have been prominent in the maintenance world for upwards of 20 years,
yet we still hear the many horror stories that claim only a 25% success
rate. This workshop for Maintenance and
Operations Managers, Supervisors and Senior Practitioners is based on the
principle that a successful implementation will be achieved with good planning
and careful execution. Throughout the five days, attendees will receive many action
checklists that will guide them through a new implementation or an upgrade, and
ensure they are part of that elusive 25%.
5. Enhancing CMMS Value
The
fundamental reason for acquiring a CMMS should be achieve better equipment
reliability at lower cost. For those
companies who already have a CMMS or EAM in place but are not happy that it is
delivering these results, this two day program provides a series of very
practical steps towards achieving those improved results. Starting with a clear description of what
improvements should be expected, Maintenance Managers and Supervisors will
practice these methodologies and
develop action plans which can then be adopted in their own workplace.
6. Improving Maintenance through RCM
RCM
is a common buzz-word in the Maintenance Lexicon. However Reliability Centred Maintenance has been practiced for
almost 30 years and all-to-rarely has achieved the desired results. Yet the ROI from a well-run program will
stem from a dramatic improvement in equipment reliability. This half-day Executive overview defines the
benefits and results that should accrue from RCM, and concentrates on the role
Executives can play to turn it from an frustrating and incomplete exercise,
into a dynamic force for improving the quality of maintenance.
7. RCM for Practitioners
This is a three day program
which provides a solid grounding in RCM techniques for Maintenance and Reliability Engineers, Supervisors and Managers. Using practical examples drawn from everyday
work, it steps the participants through the key processes that are the basis of
Reliability Centred Maintenance and are taken from SAE JA1011. At the same time, the program avoids the
pitfalls of traditional RCM programs, and makes the essential linkages with
continuous improvement and the CMMS.
8.
Maintenance Audits and Benchmarking
Increasingly, progressive
companies are using Maintenance Audits and Benchmarking as the means by which
they are measuring their performance against the market place. However the process of acquiring meaningful
results requires precise and well-defined steps. This three days course for Maintenance
Managers, Supervisors and Senior Practitioners will clearly establish these
steps, provide the means for evaluating whether the attendees’ companies are
likely to derive true benefit and if so, how they should go about it.
With the
increasing pressure on companies to improve their effectiveness comes the requirement
for better maintenance operations. Yet
performance management is more than simple KPI’s (Key Performance
Indicators); if it is to be truly
effective then it must prompt continuous improvement and lasting change. This two day workshop for Maintenance
Managers, Supervisors and Senior Practitioners
will cover the development and implementation of KPI’s, how to turn them
into continuous improvement program and how they can be a force for effective
and on-going benefits.
10. Bar coding, Remote Computing, Radio
Frequency Identification - Application and Use for Maintenance and Spares.
The benefit of these techniques has typically
been derived from the better tracking of stores and the collection of remote
information. Yet this is merely the
start of a wide range of additional improvements that companies can achieve, which will be directly
converted into higher ROI. This two day
course for Maintenance and Stores Managers, Supervisors and Senior Practitioners
will look at where the various techniques can advantageously be used, how they
should be implemented, and how the ROI can be achieved and measured.
Increased Equipment reliability is the driving force behind the most significant ROI
improvements in the manufacturing sector.
Yet the key factors which underpin the benefits of increased reliability
of equipment, and how they are inter-linked, are rarely well understood. This half-day Executive overview focuses on
how reliability can be increased, how these increases will affect ROI, and what
role the company Executives should play in achieving the results.
